<p class="Default"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Princeton University seeks outstanding candidates for a postdoctoral or more senior research position investigating the geochemistry of geologic carbon
 sequestration. The position involves taking the lead in applying molecular dynamics (MD) simulations and/or reactive transport simulations to investigate CO</span><span style="font-size:7.0pt">2
</span><span style="font-size:11.0pt">trapping in geologic carbon sequestration. Specific topics of interest include clay aggregation and swelling in CO</span><span style="font-size:7.0pt">2</span><span style="font-size:11.0pt">-charged brine, the wettability
 of mineral surfaces by brine vs. CO</span><span style="font-size:7.0pt">2</span><span style="font-size:11.0pt">, and the coupling between geochemistry and geomechanics during brine and CO</span><span style="font-size:7.0pt">2
</span><span style="font-size:11.0pt">flow through fractured shales. The position requires coordinating with an interdisciplinary team of investigators at multiple institutions that is studying the nanoscale basis of geologic carbon sequestration using experimental
 and simulation techniques. The candidate needs to be interested in working collaboratively with other research staff and graduate students within the team.

<p class="Default"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in a relevant science or engineering field, experience in MD simulations or reactive transport modeling, experience in the geochemistry of mineral-water interfaces,
 good interpersonal skills, and advanced proficiency in communicating scientific findings in peer-reviewed journals and at professional meetings. Desirable qualifications include experience in the aqueous geochemistry of clay minerals and clay-rich rocks.
