<span lang="EN" xml:lang="EN">An independent, motivated, and experienced scientist is needed to fill a laboratory manager staff position in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of Waterloo. The laboratory is a new state-of-the-art
facility that includes a metal-free clean room, a NuPlasma II multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (MC-ICP-MS), an Agilent 8800 triple quadrupole inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (QQQ-ICP-MS), and an Analyte G2 laser ablation
system. Research in this facility spans a diverse range of topics in solid Earth geochemistry and environmental biogeochemistry. The laboratory manager will report to a faculty committee that comprises the principal users of the facility.</span></p>

<span lang="EN" xml:lang="EN">A PhD degree in geoscience is required at the time of appointment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with sample dissolution, ion exchange chromatography, double spiking and isotope dilution, and spike and standard
calibration procedures in clean rooms. In addition, the ideal candidate is proficient in stable and/or radiogenic metal isotope analysis by MC-ICP-MS and elemental analysis by Q-ICP-MS. Experience with laser ablation analysis is an asset. Postdoctoral experience
is desirable. The candidate should have strong decision-making and communication skills.</span></p>
