<div dir="ltr">PhD graduate assistantship in Environmental Management<br><br>Applications
 are invited for a PhD graduate research assistant in the 
interdisciplinary Environmental Management program at  Montclair State 
University (MSU), Montclair, NJ, USA. The goal of the PhD research will 
be to combine computer models of fluid flows and mathematical models of 
transport and control to find optimal control strategies for autonomous 
ocean vehicles, which will be modeled both as inertial and non-inertial 
objects. The project is funded by the National Science Foundation and is
 led by Dr. Eric Forgoston (Department of Mathematical Sciences at MSU) 
in collaboration with Dr. Lora Billings (Department of Mathematical 
Sciences at MSU) and Dr. Philip Yecko (Department of Physics at Cooper 
Union, New York City, NY, USA).<br><br>Applicants
 who have obtained a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a strong 
background in mathematics, physics, or engineering, and who are 
interested in earth and environmental sciences are encouraged to apply. 
Applications are welcome from US nationals as well as from overseas 
candidates. The PhD research assistantship is held in the 
interdisciplinary Environmental Management doctoral program, and 
therefore the applicant must fulfill all requirements for acceptance to 
the PhD  program

graduate research assistantship provides a stipend and covers the cost 
of tuition. Employment and matriculation to the PhD program is expected 
to begin in September, 2015 or January, 2016.    <p>
