<p style="line-height: 16px;

University of California,
Merced is the newest and
tenth campus of the
University of California
system and the first
American research university
built in the 21st century.
With close to 6,200
students, UC Merced has
planned for additional
student growth until we
reach an enrollment of
approximately 25,000
students. With
undergraduate, graduate, and
PhD programs, plans for a
future medical school
program, partnerships and
community involvement, the
UC Merced campus is
continually evolving,
requiring talented,
knowledgeable and dynamic
educators, researchers,
management and staff.

Staff Research Associate is
responsible for supporting
education and outreach,
assisting with project
management and reporting and
facilitating project
communication on the
Southern Sierra Critical
Zone Observatory (CZO). The
education and outreach
program will involve
attracting new researchers
to the CZO, maintaining the
website (including ensuring
data accessibility), and
supporting stakeholder
outreach and K-16 education
activities. The Staff
Research Associate will work
with the CZO principal
investigators to prepare
reports, coordinate
communications among
scientists, interface with
USDA Forest Service Staff
and other partners, and plan
meetings. This position will
also work with scientists to
write outreach proposals and
to develop outreach talks
and materials based on
research findings. This is
an opportunity to do
research depending on the
interests of the applicant.
Critical Zone Observatories
