WMU and invites applicants for a tenure track position in Physical Geography
Education with a specialty in meteorology and climatology beginning in August
2015. Most faculty members in MISE hold joint appointments with science departments
and a joint appointment in the Department Geography will accompany the
position. &nbsp;The MISE mission is to promote
quality science education. This includes improving the teaching of science in
formal and informal settings, both locally and internationally.</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:&quot;Garamond&quot;,&quot;serif&quot;"> The
position will be filled at the Junior Faculty level (Assistant/Associate
Professor). Candidates should have a demonstrable record of successful research
and teaching, and must have received their Ph.D. in Geography,
Meteorology/Climatology (or related discipline) or Science Education with
appropriate content specialization in Meteorology/Climatology/Atmospheric
Science at the time of appointment. The successful candidate is expected to have
a demonstrated commitment to support the success of students from
underrepresented groups.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

also comprise teaching undergraduate and graduate classes that may include, but
are not limited to: Graduate Seminars and Research Methods in Science
Education, Meteorology and Climate for pre-service elementary education
students, basic physical geography, and meteorology and climatology for
aviation, geography, and science undergraduate students. Supervision of
graduate students in teaching the Meteorology and Climate course for
pre-service elementary education students is also expected. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
