seeks an enthusiastic and motivated postdoctoral fellow to develop
additional scientific capability in the field of climate and climate
services. Applicants from a wide variety of interests and backgrounds
are invited that either extend or augment existing directions, or that
offer new directions, consistent with the fundamental mission of the
Regional Climate Center program to make climate science more usable.
Potential areas of interest include but are not limited to:
hydroclimatology, observational methodology and interpretation, spatial
mapping and interpolation of climate in complex topography,
visualization of climate and its variability, description and
understanding of spatial patterns of temporal variability of climate,
statistical properties of climate, applications of climate knowledge to
natural resource management, elucidation of the role of climate
information in decision-making contexts, network design and monitoring
strategies, air quality and climate, integration of databases, data
homogeneity, mountain climate variability, snow measurement and
hydrology, rehabilitation or extension of historical time series,
orographic processes, regional climate modeling, and others. Subject
matter must have practical relevance to issues of concern in the western
United States.<br><br></div>Postdoctoral Fellow, Groundwater Flow and Transport (Las Vegas, Nevada):<br><a href="https://jobs.dri.edu/postings/49">https://jobs.dri.edu/postings/49</a><br>The Postdoctoral position will be linked to ongoing research programs within <span class="">DRI</span>
and will be an integral part of DRI’s groundwater modeling team. Within
this team, the position has the opportunity to collaborate with
hydrogeologists, hydrogeochemists, and numerical modelers developing
flow and transport models as part of hydrogeologic investigations in
complex natural systems often coupled with unique contamination issues.
Collaboration with researchers in other areas of hydrologic sciences is
also strongly encouraged.<br></div>
