The Faculty Associate for Research Mentor and Mentee Training will work with other WISCIENCE staff, faculty and staff across campus, and act as UW-Madison's liaison to the recently created National Research Mentoring Network to develop and direct programming related to undergraduate research experiences in science, with emphasis on serving underrepresented groups. Programs include but are not limited to mentor training, mentee training, and summer research experiences.<br><br>Specific responsibilities are as follows:<br><br>Classroom instruction of courses for undergraduate research mentors and mentees (40%):<br>--        Instruction of Entering Research (Biology 260 & Biology 261) and Entering Mentoring (Biology 660) either directly or indirectly by training others who are teaching. <br>--        Recruit and train faculty and instructional staff to use the Entering Research and Entering Mentoring curricula.<br>--        Manage course evaluation procedures and compile summary reports.<br>--        Ensure maintenance of participant data. Develop reports on student demographics and other statistics.<br><br>Direct the Integrated Biological Sciences Summer Research Program (40%)<br>--        Primary responsibility for acquiring extramural funding for the program and serving as Principal Investigator on grants, including budget administration, personnel supervision and annual and final report preparation.<br>--        Direct annual program planning, including developing and maintaining cross-campus partnerships.<br>--        Develop and improve educational activities to enhance student success during undergraduate research experiences.<br>--        Manage all program budgets and oversee fiscal transactions.<br>--        Supervise staff program coordinators responsible for program logistics.<br>--        Oversee identification and recruitment of student participants.<br>--        Recruit research mentors from across campus.<br>--        Manage program evaluation procedures and compile summary reports. Ensure maintenance of program participant data. Develop reports on student demographics and other statistics. <br>--        Oversee development of marketing materials, in collaboration with communications staff. <br><br>Miscellaneous (15%)<br>--        Coordinate mentor/mentee training efforts at UW Madison with the National Research Mentoring Network (NRMN)<br>--        Develop and sustain additional collaborations with other relevant programs and act as liaison with these programs. Serve on relevant campus committees. <br>--        Manage the research peer mentoring program and coordinate informational sessions about getting involved in research at the BioCommons and across campus <br>--        In collaboration with other WISCIENCE staff and campus partners, develop and direct additional programming, curricula, and other materials to promote and support undergraduate research experiences, with emphasis on serving underrepresented groups.<br>--        Primary responsibility for acquiring extramural funding for future WISCIENCE program directions in undergraduate research and mentor/mentee training.<br>--        Participate in national dialogues around undergraduate research, mentor & mentee training, undergraduate science education, and educational
