(NOAA), Office of Program, Planning and Integration (PPI), seeks a senior staff-level economist to represent climate/weather/observational portfolio to carry out valuations of the NOAA’s products and services; aimed at ensuring maximum return on NOAA’s investments.
This position is located in NOAA’s Silver Spring, Maryland offices. </span></p>

<li class="MsoNormal" style="">Employee shall provide technical expertise for the successful valuations of the NOAA’s product and services.</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="">Employee shall provide technical expertise to assess the feasibility of valuations, carry them out and effectively communicate results.</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="">Employee shall effectively communicate the limits and uncertainties associated with the valuations.</li></ul>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><b><u>Job Duties:</u></b></p>
<ul type="disc" style="margin-top:0in">
<li class="MsoNormal" style="color:black">Create a strategic approach to valuing NOAA’s products and services in the climate, weather, and observational portfolio.</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="color:black">Develop a prioritization process to determine what elements of NOAA’s work should be valued.</li></ul>
<ul type="disc" style="margin-top:0in">
<li class="MsoNormal" style="">Provide preliminary assessment to help guide the development of quality, high impact valuations.<u></u></li><li class="MsoNormal" style="">Develop conceptual framework for carryout out valuations.<u></u></li><li class="MsoNormal" style="">Carry out pilot valuation project that implements the conceptual framework.</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="">Recommends modification based on the results of the pilot.</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="">Draft work plan that includes an overview of the proposed methodology, uncertainty associated with this methodology, data requirements, dependencies, estimated costs, timeline, milestone, and final deliverables.</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="">Conduct preliminary work plan prior to implementation, include collecting necessary data
</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="">Coordinate, collaborate and facilitate necessary data collections and preliminary results with the team.</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="">Prepare valuation report to NOAA/partners.</li></ul>
