seeks a Research Analyst for the Office of Response and Restoration (ORR). This individual will work with NOAA’s Marine Debris Program (MDP

<p class="MsoNormal">ORR (<a href="http://www.response.restoration.noaa.gov/">www.response.restoration.noaa.gov</a>) is a program office in the National Ocean Service that responds to threats in order to protect and restore coastal resources. To do this ORR
provides interdisciplinary scientific response to releases of oil, chemicals, and contaminants, and protects and restores NOAA trust resources, and addresses marine debris.<b></b></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><b><span style="color:black">Core Responsibilities</span></b><span style="color:black">:</span></p>
<ul type="disc" style="margin-top:0in">
<li class="MsoNormal" style="color:black; text-align:justify">Support the scientific and research aspects of the MDP’s portfolio.</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="color:black; text-align:justify">Serve as a project liaison between MDP headquarters and principal investigators in the field and track research performance measures.</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="color:black; text-align:justify">Assist with the development and review of proposals for marine debris federal funding opportunities.</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="color:black; text-align:justify">Support on-going MDP research projects and data management efforts.
</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="color:black; text-align:justify">Maintain an up-to-date library of marine debris scientific peer-reviewed and grey literature.
</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="color:black; text-align:justify">Research pertinent publications, existing data, and scientific information in general and share with the MDP staff.</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="color:black; text-align:justify">Represent the MDP in various outreach and education capacities.</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="color:black; text-align:justify">Support additional projects and other MDP activities as needed.

<li class="MsoNormal" style="color:black; text-align:justify">Master’s in biology or related field. If the candidate does not have a Master’s then an undergraduate degree in biology or related field with significant work experience and understanding of marine
debris issues. </li><li class="MsoNormal" style="color:black; text-align:justify">Strong verbal and writing skills.</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="color:black; text-align:justify">Strong computer and data analysis skills</li><li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:black">Self-motivated, energetic, strategic thinker.</span></li><li class="MsoNormal" style="color:black; text-align:justify">Experience working on interdisciplinary teams.</li></ul>
