                    seeking a person with a commitment to excellence in
                    teaching at a predominately undergraduate
                    institution. Teaching responsibilities will include
                    upper and lower division courses in Geography,
                    Environmental Science, or other areas based on
                    interdisciplinary department needs. Teaching
                    consists of 12 credits per semester (typically 3-4
                    courses per semester). In addition, the ideal
                    candidate will be expected to re-design or create
                    new courses, contribute to curriculum development,
                    integrate scholarly activities and knowledge into
                    teaching, use current technology, such as<span
                      class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span><span
                      class="caps">GIS</span>, to facilitate student
                    learning, evaluate assessment results to improve
                    their courses and respective programs, and
                    effectively advise students. Participation in field
                    experiences, the General Studies program, First Year
                    Success Program, and mentoring undergraduate
                    research projects is expected. Enthusiasm for
                    interdisciplinary research and new collaborations
                    will be an asset. The successful candidate will have
                    exhibited the ability to develop and maintain a
                    publication record and present their scholarly work
                    at professional conferences or workshops. It is
                    expected that the candidate will be able to
                    participate in service activities that are
                    substantial and meaningful.</p>
