The position requires a PhD in Oceanography, Marine Science, or Aquatic Chemistry, or similar field obtained within the last 3 years and expertise in the application of isotopic techniques, particularly with the use of MIMS.<br>

The successful applicant will join a new NSF-funded study of nitrogen cycling in the Gulf. We will be combining molecular techniques and N cycling rate measurements that will ultimately provide information relevant to marsh reconstruction efforts. Highly motivated candidates with (i) demonstrated record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and (ii) with strong analytical skills in MIMS/Isotopic techniques are encouraged to apply and to incorporate their interests into the project. The post-doc will work closely and under the direction of Dr. Behzad Mortazavi at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. The position is initially for 12 months, beginning as soon as it can be filled with the possibility of renewal pending funding.<br>
