<b>ENDOWED PROFESSORSHIP IN INNOVATIVE SCIENCE EDUCATION
RESEARCH</b><br>

The Franklin College of Arts and Sciences at The
University of Georgia invites <br>
applications at the rank of Associate or Full Professor for the
position of University of <br>
Georgia Athletic Association Professorship in Innovative Science
Education Research. <br>
Qualified applicants must have a Ph.D. in Biology, Chemistry,
Physics or a related field<br>
and are expected to have experience in teaching, mentoring, and
research in discipline<br>
based education at the post-secondary level, plus a demonstrated
track record of national <br>
leadership in and current extramural funding for
discipline-based education research<br>
(DBER). Associate Professor candidates must have served a minimum
of three years at <br>
the Assistant Professor level. Full Professor candidates must have
served a minimum of <br>
three years as a tenured Associate Professor.<br>

The successful applicant will join a vibrant group of more
than 25 faculty in Franklin <br>
College and five other colleges at the University who are
engaged in DBER <br>
(<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://science_education_center_place_holder.uga.edu">http://science_education_center_place_holder.uga.edu</a>). The
endowed professor will <br>
assume a leadership role in developing multi-investigator grant
proposals including both <br>
basic and applied research and coordinating and publishing research
in discipline-based <br>
education. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with
the faculty in studying <br>
learning and teaching in classroom and laboratory settings, as
well as teaching in their <br>
scientific discipline.<br>

The expected start date for this position is August 2015.
The committee will begin to <br>
review applications on November 14, 2014 and will continue until the
position is filled.<br>
