<h2>Research Associate in Clumped Isotope Geochemistry (Fixed
Term)</h2>
<hr> </header>
<section class="grid_11 prefix_2 suffix_1 alpha">
<p>The Godwin Laboratory in the Department of Earth Sciences,
University of Cambridge, welcomes applications for a Post
Doctoral Research Associate (PDRA) in Clumped Isotope
Geochemistry. The successful candidate will hold a fixed-term,
twelve-month appointment as a PDRA that is renewable for up to
2.5 years. Ideally the candidate would start in January 2015.</p>
<p>The research programme involves the tandem application of
clumped isotope and Mg/Ca in foraminifera to estimate
palaeotemperature. The candidate will have a PhD with a strong
background in isotope geochemistry and at least 2 years of
relevant experience in clumped isotope mass spectrometry. This
project requires a significant amount of hands-on work with
instrumentation, and the candidate must have experience with
operation of vacuum gas lines and isotope ratio mass
spectrometers with specific application to clumped isotope
measurements in carbonate minerals. Good communication skills,
the ability to work in a team, and a track record of publication
in peer-reviewed journals is desirable.</p>
<p>You will be part of a team of researchers and technicians
working in the Godwin Laboratory, University of Cambridge, that
has a long history of stable isotope mass spectrometry.
Enquiries concerning this position should be directed to Prof.
David Hodell (<a href="mailto:dah73@cam.ac.uk">dah73@cam.ac.uk</a>).</p>
<p>Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 1 year in
the first instance.<br>
