one post-doctoral researcher to join my research group
(<a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="http://www.gabrielevillarini.com">www.gabrielevillarini.com</a>) in the Department of Civil and
Environmental
Engineering at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt;text-align:justify">The
research
will focus on: 1) the examination of the predictability of climate
over the
central United States at decadal and multi-decadal time scales; 2)
the
development of a framework for the decadal prediction of discharge
over this area.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt;text-align:justify">Initial
appointment
is for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to
satisfactory performance and continued funding. This position is
immediately

selected
researcher will be part of IIHR—Hydroscience & Engineering.
She/he will
have access to an exceptional range of resources, including
laboratories,
instrumentation and equipment, mechanical and electrical shops,
research
computing support, etc. Additionally, the researcher will be part
of the Iowa
Flood Center (IFC), the nation’s first academic center devoted to
the study of
floods.<o:p></o:p></p>

relevant science or engineering field prior to starting this

required. Candidates from subsets of fields including hydrology,
atmospheric
sciences, or climate sciences are particularly encouraged to

downloading and analyzing large data sets and model output is
required.
