<p>The Department of Environmental and Earth Sciences (<span
class="caps">EES</span>) is hiring a full-time, tenure
track position in Global Climate Change and Environmental
Health. Successful applicants will have expertise in the
human health dimensions of global climate change such as
(but not limited to) infectious disease, food security,
water resources, or population displacement, and an
aptitude for and commitment to teaching and research in an
interdisciplinary environmental science department. The
individual will contribute to our core<span
class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><span class="caps">EES</span><span
class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>curriculum at both
the upper and lower division levels (including
participation in rotational team teaching of our
introductory courses, and supervising senior theses), and
also teach one to two upper level courses in his/her area
of expertise. All faculty at Willamette are expected to
contribute to our general education classes, thoughtfully
advise and mentor students, and maintain an active and
externally funded program of scholarship incorporating
undergraduates.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><br>

We anticipate hiring an individual whose scholarship and
teaching rests within the social sciences. We expect all
applicants to utilize quantitative and qualitative methods
in their research and teaching. We anticipate the
successful candidate will develop research and teaching
collaborations both within and beyond<span
class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><span class="caps">EES</span>,
for example, with colleagues in sociology, politics,
psychology, economics, anthropology, history, or biology.<span

objectives of creating an integrative, collaborative, and
inclusive learning environment, utilizing high impact
pedagogies and collaborative learning, as well as

understanding of sustainability as a unifying principle
across the curriculum” (Willamette University Strategic
Plan, January 2013, Objective 4d). We foresee the hire to
offer content and training that prepares students both
