<br>Announcing THREE positions in the Natural Resource Social Science (NRSS)<br>Lab in the Department of Forestry and Natural Resources at Purdue<br>University in West Lafayette, IN. The NRSS Lab is a highly productive<br>
group that primarily focuses on the intersection between water quality,<br>climate change and agriculture in the Midwestern United States. PI Dr.<br>Linda Prokopy has a number of grants to support this ongoing work and<br>
successful applicants for the positions listed below will generate a<br>number of publications, gain experience in grant writing, and help<br>inform the practice of watershed management through interactions with<br>local stakeholders throughout the Midwest. All applicants must be<br>

<br><br>Position 1: Postdoctoral Research Assistant:<br>A postdoc is needed to work primarily on two projects: (1) A content<br>analysis examining how climate change is portrayed in the agricultural<br>media, and (2) A qualitative assessment of how farmers' willingness to<br>
adopt certain conservation practices is changing with increased climate<br>variability. Both of these projects are part of larger interdisciplinary<br>projects and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work<br>
with multiple investigators at other universities. The candidate will<br>also have the opportunity to work on other projects related to the<br>social dimensions of watershed management and to interact with other<br>postdocs and graduate students in the NRSS lab.<br>
<br>The successful candidate will have experience with both quantitative and<br>qualitative social science research methods, knowledge of agricultural<br>conservation policy and water quality issues, and strong written and<br>
verbal communication skills.<br><br>This position is available immediately but must be filled by January 1,<br>2015. The position pays $45,000/year plus benefits. This position is<br>initially for one year but is renewable for a second year based upon<br>

work will build upon existing NRSS lab work on what motivates people to<br>adopt practices and will focus on the critical question of how to ensure<br>that practices are maintained in working condition so environmental<br>
benefits are actually reaped. The preferred candidate will have an MS<br>degree in a field related to natural resources social sciences.<br><br>This position will begin January 2015 and will include the departmental<br>standard stipend and tuition remissions for three years. For more<br>

This position is for a full-time staff member in the NRSS lab. The<br>successful candidate will oversee the daily management of the NRSS lab<br>(oversee survey mailings, write reports, supervise undergraduate<br>students) and will conduct research and outreach on watershed<br>
management. The successful candidate should have knowledge of Midwestern<br>agriculture, social science research methods, and watershed management.<br>The preferred candidate will have an MS degree in a field related to<br>
natural resources social sciences.<br><br>The position will begin as soon as a successful candidate is identified.<br>This position has no ending date but is contingent upon the availability<br>of grant funds. Salary will be between $35,000 - $45,000 dependent upon<br>
