Over the last 5 years the Department of Geography has realised a greater than six-fold growth in research staff, and multi-million pound funding has been secured competitively through multiple grants (NERC, EU) and facilities awards. The department has particular strengths in environmental geochemistry and ecology. Candidates with expertise in these or any relevant area of research, particular ecology, environmental microbiology, environmental geochemistry, and hydrology are particularly encouraged to apply. You will support and enhance high quality research, teaching and entrepreneurial activities. The department will consider high quality applicants in any area of research.<br>

You must hold a first degree and be qualified to Doctoral level in a relevant discipline and have subject expertise in Physical Geography / Environmental Science, with specialist knowledge gained through research activity, professional practice or consultancy. Proven ability to deliver high quality research led teaching within an appropriate field and a publication profile commensurate with the post of lecturer/senior lecturer are essential.<br>
