Postdoctoral Position in Temporal Scaling of Ecosystem Processes. A postdoc=<br>
toral position is available focused on the temporal aspects of interactions=<br>
among biogeochemistry, paleoecology, and global change. The primary respon=<br>
sibilities associated with this position are: (1) to assist with coordinati=<br>
on of a diverse and broad network of researchers in the U.S. and elsewhere,=<br>
and (2) to conduct independent research on the biogeochemical consequences=<br>
of ecosystem change at decadal to multi-millennial timescales. The minimum=<br>
required qualification is a doctoral degree in a relevant ecological, Eart=<br>
h, or environmental science. This position is funded by a Research Coordina=<br>
tion Network grant from the National Science Foundation to integrate paleo-=<br>
and neo-ecosystem ecology, especially biogeochemical responses to disturban=<br>
ce (<a href="http://novusrcn.wordpress.com" target="_blank">http://novusrcn.wordpress.com</a><div id=":ua" class="">). Thus, the ideal candidate would have a =<br>
background in paleoecology, ecosystem ecology, or both. Experience with GIS=<br>
, programming, and/or elemental analysis is also desirable. Specific duties=<br>
include development of an independent research project, organization of wo=<br>
rkshops, communication with network participants, acquisition and/or analys=<br>
is of data, presentation of research findings at professional meetings, pot=<br>
ential collaboration with faculty from a variety of institutions, and prepa=<br>
ration of manuscripts. This position is based at the Department of Geograph=<br>
y at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, U.S.A. with several trav=<br>
