Department of Earth Science at the University of California,
Santa Barbara,
invites applications for a post-doctoral scholar in
foraminiferal geochemistry,
starting May, 2014. This is 2-year position funded by an NSF
grant whose
objective is to establish controls on foraminiferal Mg as a
tropical
paleotemperature proxy, and in particular to investigate the
potential role of
salinity. We seek an accomplished scientist with the following
experience, in
order of importance: foraminiferal trace element geochemistry,
climate proxies,
and statistics. Experience in the operation of ICP-MS is
required.<u></u><u></u></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>Applicants

curriculum
vitae, a description of recent research activities and
accomplishments, and the
contact information of three referees who will provide letters.
