The RA's will be a key component of a multi-investigator, and</span><br style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">ultimately interdisciplinary, effort to study coastal plain rivers and</span><br style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">
<span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">surrounding ecosystems, particularly in relation to natural and</span><br style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">anthropogenic disturbances. A large portion of the work will take place at</span><br style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">
<span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">multiple sites within the Ogeechee River Basin (approximately 15 minutes</span><br style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">from Statesboro). Specifically, the RA's will make possible a rigorous</span><br style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">
<span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">monitoring and assessment program by quantifying major consumer and</span><br style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">producer communities and associated processes at the ecosystem level. A</span><br style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">
<span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">major component of the project will include studies on how consumer groups</span><br style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">(i.e., fish and invertebrates) respond to environmental stressors.</span><br style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">
