<div dir="ltr"><br clear="all"><div><br></div><ul style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Science at the <br>University of Nevada Reno (<a href="http://www.cabnr.unr.edu/nres" target="_blank">www.cabnr.unr.edu/nres</a>) seeks an Ecohydrologist <br>
at the Assistant Professor level to conduct research, teach undergraduate <br>and graduate courses, and to provide outreach in Ecohydrology, which <br>involves the interactions and associated feedbacks between ecological <br>
systems and the hydrologic cycle. The Department is very interdisciplinary <br>with faculty having expertise and research interests in the areas of <br>hydrology, limnology, plant sciences, forestry, soil science, environmental <br>
science, landscape ecology, and wildlife science. The Department maintains <br>a Master’s of Science program and offers doctoral degrees through three <br>interdisciplinary programs managed by the University of Nevada, including <br>
the Graduate Program of Hydrologic Sciences (<a href="http://www.hydro.unr.edu/" target="_blank">www.hydro.unr.edu</a>), a <br>collaborative effort between UNR and the Desert Research Institute that <br>offers excellent opportunities for teaching and research. In addition, the <br>
Department has developed and offers the only undergraduate Bachelor of <br>Science degree in Ecohydrology in the nation <br>(<a href="http://www.ag.unr.edu/nres/bs_ecohydrology.aspx" target="_blank">www.ag.unr.edu/nres/bs_ecohydrology.aspx</a>). The desired candidate is <br>
expected to collaborate broadly across the Department, the College of <br>Agriculture, Biotechnology, and Natural Resources, the University, and <br>Federal, State, and local agencies, and will play a fundamental role in the <br>
Ecohydrology undergraduate major.<br> <br><br> <br>Successful applicants are expected to:<br> <br>· establish a nationally-recognized, competitive research program <br>in the broad area of Ecohydrology<br> <br>· publish in peer-reviewed journals<br>
<br>· obtain extramural grant support<br> <br>· teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Ecohydrology and <br>introductory hydrology that are required for Departmental and <br>interdisciplinary academic programs<br> <br>
· teach additional courses within their area of specialization<br> <br>· advise undergraduate and graduate students in the Department and <br>in appropriate interdisciplinary graduate programs; and <br> <br>· provide outreach research, education, and leadership to academic, <br>
State, professional, and public stakeholders<br> <br>The position is expected to be filled as a 9-month tenure track position at <br>the Assistant Professor level. A start date of <span class="" tabindex="0"><span class="">August 1, 2014</span></span> is desired, <br>
but can be negotiated.<br> <br><br> <br>*Required qualifications*: Candidates must have a Ph.D. in hydrology, <br>ecology, or a related field in the natural sciences or engineering, have <br>strong quantitative skills, and a record of scholarly activity in the form <br>
