<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span lang="EN-GB">We propose a one to
two year postdoc position
at the LSCE (and IDES, Univ. of Paris-Sud, Orsay), France, on
the development
of a system for measuring the </span><span style="font-family:Symbol" lang="EN-GB">d</span><span lang="EN-GB">18O and </span><span style="font-family:Symbol" lang="EN-GB">d</span><span lang="EN-GB">D of fluid
inclusions using a laser cavity ring down spectroscopy system.
The aim of this
work is to set up a laser system using CRDS in order to measure
</span><span style="font-family:Symbol" lang="EN-GB">d</span><span lang="EN-GB">18O and </span><span style="font-family:Symbol" lang="EN-GB">d</span><span lang="EN-GB">D on small
quantities of waters (i.e. few tens/hundreds
of nL). The successful candidate will have to work with
engineers<span> </span><span> </span>and
researchers at LSCE and IDES on the adaptation of an already
existing calcite
crushing cell to the laser spectrometer system. He/she will have
to make tests
on different types of calcite samples and water standards.
Depending on the
progress, applications to paleoclimate reconstructions will be
undertaken. We
are looking for a candidate with a solid background in stable
isotope measuring
(preferably with laser spectroscopy), able to involve deeply in
the technical
aspect of the project.<u></u><u></u></span></p>
