In particular, the MSc (Engineering Geology) programme has for some decades been at the forefront in providing skilled graduates for industry in Australasia, and graduate student demand is strong. Additional capability is required to support this demand and to extend the range of discipline expertise available. This position requires a well-qualified research active scientist, preferably with some professional experience.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal'><span style='font-size:10.0pt;color:black'>Applicants for this continuing position will be expected to develop and deliver course material at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervise postgraduate research students in the MSc (Engineering Geology) and PhD degree programmes, develop their own research portfolio, and develop and maintain industry links. Dependent on experience, a developing to excellent research and publication track record within the broad field of engineering geology is a key requirement. Evidence of a commitment to excellent teaching and excellent applied research with potential or demonstrated ability to lead research programmes and gain external funding will be required. Willingness to engage in interdisciplinary teaching and research, and ability to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in geology and/or hazard and disaster management are also an advantage.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;line-height:normal'><span style='font-size:10.0pt;color:black'>Applicants must have a PhD, while postdoctoral research or equivalent professional experience in relevant aspects of engineering geology with a developing research track record will be an advantage.
