<ul>
<li>Review of wave and/or tidal energy conversion systems or component
technology development project plans</li>
<li>Able to apply their systems engineering experience for establishing risk and
reliability evaluation processes to track failures and identify critical areas
for technological improvements</li>
<li>Evaluation of the sufficiency of data collection and analysis methods to
prove technology feasibility</li>
<li>Support and analyze portfolio of MHK projects including annual budget
development, project selection and management, and out-year planning</li>
<li>Help support market initiatives and further development of marine
hydrokinetics technologies</li>
<li>Conduct analytical, environmental, operational, or performance studies in
marine technologies</li>
<li>Government/industry collaboration and outreach support</li>
<li>This is NOT a research or hands-on engineering position, but rather an
engineering consultation position supporting and analyzing a portfolio of
ongoing research projects to help guide industry development</li></ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s Degree in Systems/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
<strong>required</strong>; Master’s <strong>strongly preferred</strong></li>
<li>Minimum 4+ Years’ experience within Marine/Ocean Technologies/Systems
<strong>required</strong></li>
<li>Knowledge of the challenges of installation, maintenance and operation of
equipment in the marine environment <strong>strongly preferred</strong></li>
<li>Any experience in moorings, foundations, and/or prognostics and heath
management <strong>preferred</strong></li>
<li>Thorough knowledge and experience in the design/verification of marine
energy systems</li>
<li>Working understanding of U.S. energy policy</li>
<li>Solid understanding of project management and economic principles</li>
<li>Must be a self-starter; able to work independently or with limited
supervision</li>
<li>Able to work with limited oversight and produce quality analytical
deliverables in a short turn-around environment</li>
<li>Works well in a team environment with peers with diverse technical
backgrounds</li>
<li>Strong communication skills (written and oral); with the ability to
communicate technological terms to a lay audience</li>
<li>Experience with conventional hydropower, marine hydrokinetics and government
contracting a huge plus</li>
<li><strong>Must be a US citizen</strong></li></ul>
<p class=""><strong>Required Technical Skills: </strong></p>
<p class="">Extensive working knowledge of MS Word, Advanced MS Excel,
Advanced MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, and SharePoint (Use Only) is highly desired.
Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, MS Project, and other software also
helpful.</p>
