Candidates should be able to teach and advise in one or more of the following areas: Conservation and Sustainability, Climatology, or Resource Use and Management. Preference will be given to candidates with working knowledge of Geographic Information Systems. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Geography Department. The Department supports the development of innovative courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. <span class="" style="color:rgb(34,34,34)">Faculty</span> at SIUE have extensive opportunities to develop their teaching and research agendas. Excellence in teaching is expected, as is a record of scholarly productivity which may involve both undergraduate and graduate students.</span></span></p>

Areas of specialization include biogeography, climatology, cultural geography, hydrology, urban studies, GIS and remote sensing. The Laboratory of Applied Spatial Analysis and the Office of the Mines are closely associated with the Department and offer collaborative research opportunities.
