We are seeking a colleague who will build an innovative research program as </b><b>well as complement and extend our research and teaching strengths.</b></p>
<p style="margin-top:0px;margin-right:0px;margin-bottom:0px;margin-left:0px;font:normal normal normal 12px/normal 'Times New Roman'"><b>We seek outstanding candidates within the broad fields of solid-earth geophysics and</b></p>
<p style="margin-top:0px;margin-right:0px;margin-bottom:0px;margin-left:0px;font:normal normal normal 12px/normal 'Times New Roman'"><b>geochemistry including rock and mineral physics, theoretical and analytical geochemistry,</b></p>
<p style="margin-top:0px;margin-right:0px;margin-bottom:0px;margin-left:0px;font:normal normal normal 12px/normal 'Times New Roman'"><b>geodesy, geodynamics, and seismology. We encourage applications from those whose focus</b></p>
<p style="margin-top:0px;margin-right:0px;margin-bottom:0px;margin-left:0px;font:normal normal normal 12px/normal 'Times New Roman'"><b>involves the crust, mantle, and core of the Earth and other planetary bodies as well as those with </b><b>interdisciplinary interests.</b></p>
<p style="margin-top:0px;margin-right:0px;margin-bottom:0px;margin-left:0px;font:normal normal normal 12px/normal 'Times New Roman'"><b>The successful candidate will teach courses in her/his field of expertise at the undergraduate and </b><b>graduate levels and will participate in the breadth of instruction in our curriculum.</b></p>
<p style="margin-top:0px;margin-right:0px;margin-bottom:0px;margin-left:0px;font:normal normal normal 12px/normal 'Times New Roman'"><b>The Department of Earth Sciences is part of the N.H. Winchell School of Earth Sciences, which </b><b>also hosts three NSF-funded research centers: Institute for Rock Magnetism, National Center for </b><b>Earth-surface Dynamics, and National Lacustrine Core Repository. In addition, the School is </b><b>home to the Minnesota Geological Survey and the Polar Geospatial Center. College and </b><b>University resources include the Materials Characterization Facility, the Supercomputing </b><b>Institute, the Digital Technology Center, the St. Anthony Falls Laboratory, and the Institute on </b><b>the Environment.
