Science Section invites applications for a full-time position in the Aerosol and Cloud Science Group. The successful applicant will apply advanced radiative transfer and particle optical scattering expertise to the generation of aerosol retrieval algorithms
for the Airborne Multiangle SpectroPolarimetric Imager (AirMSPI), Multiangle Imaging SpectroRadiometer (MISR), and future airborne or spaceborne instruments making use of multiangle, multispectral, and polarimetric imaging; contribute to development of optical
tomographic approaches to 3-D aerosol and cloud retrievals from multiangle observations; engage in collaborative analysis of Earth observations with climate scientists and/or experts in aerosol and cloud science; and perform research into the atmospheric structure
of planetary atmospheres, including retrieval of the aerosol and cloud properties of Saturn’s moon, Titan, from Cassini spacecraft observations.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

develop, implement, and utilize scalar and vector, 1-D, 3-D, and spherical shell radiative transfer and diffusion codes; experience in data fitting, optimization, and algorithm development; demonstrated skills in complex data analysis and software development,
with strong computer programming skills in C/C++, Fortran, or Matlab; experience in the application of particle scattering and radiative transfer theory to atmospheric science problems with a substantial publication record in support of that research; demonstrated
ability to work effectively in small and large teams; excellent oral and written presentation skills; and a strong track record of research achievement and visibility in relevant research communities.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
