GAIA seeks a highly-skilled, passionate, and goal-oriented Zero Waste 
Coordinator to lead development of digital campaign strategies and tools 
to create a Zero Waste Master Plan and coordinate campaigns for GAIA’s 
U.S. members and allied organizations. The ZW Coordinator will provide 
critical coordination and internal and external communications support 
to build and strengthen the work of the Break Free From Plastic U.S. 
(BFFP U.S.) movement and GAIA’s U.S. Zero Waste Program Work with 
messages tailored for diverse audiences. The ZW Coordinator will also 
develop and implement optimal digital media strategies for the GAIA 
U.S./Canada Zero Waste Program in collaboration with GAIA’s 
Communications Coordinator and implement social media strategies during 
peak moments of movement collaboration, such as America Recycles Day and 
launch of the Zero Waste Master Plan. The Zero Waste Master Plan will be 
a central repository for toolkits, models, case studies, and other 
materials to assist grassroots organizations, mission-based recyclers, 
government officials, and others working to adopt zero waste plans and 
policies. The ZW Coordinator will also provide support to GAIA members 
campaigning for their cities to adopt local zero waste policies, as needed.
