Graduate student (MS) positions are available in the fall of 2019 in the Department of Geography and Atmospheric Science at the University of Kansas (https://geography.drupal.ku.edu/). Enthusiastic students who are interested in atmospheric science and climate research are especially encouraged to apply. Potential research topics include the variability and transport of dust aerosols, dust-climate interactions (such as radiative forcing induced atmospheric circulation change), and regional climate change.

Graduate research assistantship (GRA) is available for the first year, and further funding is contingent on the availability of department graduate teaching assistantships (GTAs) and external funding. The graduate researcher is expected to learn to develop computer code to process and analyze large observational datasets and/or climate model output, present findings at professional conferences, and publish results in peer-reviewed journals.

Applicants who are interested in the position are encouraged to send their CVs and statements of interest to Dr. Bing Pu (bpu at ku.edu<mailto:bpu at ku.edu>). To be fully considered for a fellowship or teaching assistantship, full application must be submitted online by January 15, 2019: https://geog.ku.edu/graduate-1.
