Dear Colleague,

Happy New Year!

I am looking for a postdoc on Air Quality/Earth System Modeling.
Could you please help distribute the following position description to people who may be interested?
Thanks a lot!

The Air Quality Forecasting (AQF) Lab at North Carolina State University
is accepting applications for a post-doctoral research position in Air Quality/Earth System Modeling.
The primary duties will include the development, improvement, application, and evaluation of 3-D air quality models from global to street level, climate models, and Earth system models. Example models include WRF/Chem and its variants such as WRF/Chem-MADRID or WRF-CAM5, CMAQ, and CESM/CAM5. The model development will focus on aerosol chemistry and microphysics (e.g., secondary organic aerosol formation), aerosol-cloud-precipitation-climate feedbacks, and chemical data assimilation. Model applications include short-term real-time air quality forecasting, long-term simulations under current and future year emission/energy/climate scenarios to study the impacts of global climate changes on air qualityas well as impact of changed air quality on regional and global climate and Earth system. The successful candidate will have a recent PhD degree in atmospheric sciences, environmental/chemical engineering or closely related field with a strong interdisciplinary background in atmospheric chemistry, cloud/aerosol microphysics and chemistry, climate/meteorology, data assimilation, and ensemble modeling. Required materials include cover letter containing contact address and visa status (if any), complete curriculum vitae, official copies of transcripts, statement of research interests, and names and contact information for three references and 2-3 sample publications. More information can be found at NCSU's online job site:https://jobs.ncsu.edu/postings. Refer to the position number: PG180069PD. For technical questions regarding this position, please contact Dr. Yang Zhang at yang_zhang at ncsu.edu<mailto:yang_zhang at ncsu.edu>.
