Under the supervision of the Chief of the Atmospheric Environment Research
(AER) Division, the incumbent will perform the following duties:

(a) Keep abreast of developments in and new requirements for, the
observations and modelling of the chemical composition and physical
characteristics of the atmosphere, especially of those related to
stratospheric ozone, atmospheric radiation and water vapour for the
implementation of the Global Atmosphere Watch (GAW) Programme, working
closely with the relevant GAW and the other groups within the research
department;

(b) Support the Rolling Review of Requirements and WMO Integrated Global
Observing System (WIGOS) activities within the GAW Programme and keep
abreast with the development of the observational capabilities, including
the satellite measurement of the atmospheric chemical composition;

(c) Coordinate the GAW observational network for total ozone and
Ultraviolet (UV) radiation, including quality assurance activities;

(d) Assist in the organization of appropriate expert meetings, symposia,
conferences, training workshops and other activities relevant to GAW, in
particular in support of Ozone Assessments as required by the Vienna
Convention and the Montreal Protocol;

(e) Coordinate the implementation of the federated data management and the
Near Real-Time (NRT) data exchange in GAW, working in collaboration with
the GAW data centres, GAW Station Information System (GAWSIS) and the WMO
Information System (WIS);

(f) Coordinate preparation of and contribute to relevant bulletins,
correspondence and technical documents;

(g) Act as WMO/GAW focal point for collaboration with relevant
international organizations and research projects as required;

(h) Develop GAW products and services and enhance ties to user communities;

(i) Provide Secretariat support for relevant constituent bodies and other
relevant groups of WMO;

(j) Carry out other relevant duties as required.
