Environmental Scientist, Geologist, or Engineer


Description


Weston Solutions, Inc. is actively seeking an experienced environmental
scientist, geologist or engineer with environmental industry experience to
provide technical support and expertise to project managers.  The candidate
provides clients with accurate and pertinent scientific data according to
agreed upon methods, procedures, and techniques.  Provides sound conclusions
and recommendations based upon field investigations and literature reviews
within the established project schedules. 

Expected Outcomes

Establish a project leadership style that promotes efficient, high-quality
and timely execution of all assigned tasks.

Maintain good working relationships with personnel in other departments and
offices to foster internal corporate communications.

Communicate all project related performance issues to the appropriate
manager.

Maintain personal schedule to fulfill utilization goals as directed by
Practice Leader/Resource Manager.

Be aware of budget and schedule on assigned projects and work with Project
Manager to complete project within budget and on schedule.

Prepare reports and proposals as requested by the Project Manager.

Ensure compliance with technical project specifications and standard
operating procedures defined in the project work scope.

Compile specifications and procure subcontractors in coordination with the
Project Manager.

Interpret data, draft segments of technical reports, and assist developing
recommendations for clients.

Monitor financial project performance, including the performance of
subcontractors, when assigned the responsibility of task or project leader.

Maintain sensitivity toward client.

Organize and execute projects according to proposed scope of work.

Participate in project discussions with client, regulators, other
departments and offices.

Manage time effectively to complete projects and reports; work closely with
Project Managers to identify and overcome obstacles to completing projects.

Author reports which will include data interpretations and conclusions.
Participate in developing report recommendations.

Execution of all assigned project tasks in accordance with correct procedure
and the project work plan.

Clearly document activities involved in assigned tasks in accordance with
established project plans and department/division, QA/QC plan.

Participate in peer reviews of work scopes, project implementation plans,
schedules, budgets, technical calculations and interpretations, and
deliverables, as requested.

Cooperate with the implementation of all project QA/QC audits and reviews,
and assist in implementing corrective actions as appropriate

.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

B.S. in Environmental Sciences, Geosciences or Environmental Engineering
with 7+ years of experience

Experience in the regulatory programs of CERCLA, MEPA/NEPA, and CWA
including field studies, report preparation, and presentation of findings. 

Brownfields experience is preferred. 

Must be able to work autonomously and interact directly with project staff
and clients on projects throughout the U.S.

Conscientious work ethic and attention to detail a must

Good working relationship with subcontractors (drillers, labs, geophysical)

Good communication skills and able to communicate with client site
representatives

Good field skills
