*Post-doctoral Research Position in Atmospheric Aerosol Modeling at the
Cooperative Institute for Great Lakes Research (CIGLR)/University of
Michigan*

*Description: *Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position to
participate on postdoctoral position funded by the Cooperative Institute
for Great Lakes Research (CIGLR) and the Climate and Space Sciences
Department at the University of Michigan (UM) to study the lake spray
aerosol emissions and transport. Specifically, the postdoctoral fellow
will investigate the role of the generation and transport of aerosolized
toxins from harmful algal blooms in the western Lake Erie basin. The
position will be based at UM in the Climate and Space Science and
Engineering department in the research group of Professor Allison Steiner
and will work closely with Eric Anderson at the NOAA Great Lakes
Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL) and Andrew Ault in the UM School
of Public Health. The project will include the development of a lake spray
aerosol emissions based on laboratory studies from the Ault research group,
incorporate real-time HAB extents in the model, and generate exposure maps
based on regional model output. The initial appointment is for one year,
with the possibility for extension to a second year.

*Qualifications:* Candidates must have received a Ph.D. in atmospheric
sciences, chemistry, chemical engineering, or related fields of
environmental science and engineering. Programming experience is
preferred, especially those with experience with three-dimensional regional
models (e.g., WRF, WRF-Chem), however, candidates with other atmospheric
chemistry experience will be considered. Applicants should have
demonstrated quantitative skills and a successful publication record.

*To Apply: *Please send a (1) a cover letter detailing research interests,
(2) a CV, and (3) the names of three references to Allison Steiner,
alsteiner at umich.edu

Review of applications will begin on May 15, 2019 and will be accepted
until the position is filled.
