Hello everyone,

We have two PhD positions available under a collaborative project between the Department of Math and the Department of Meteorology (MISU), Stockholm University, Sweden. The project aims at developing an idealized coupled Finite Element Model framework for studying processes involved in ice sheet-ocean interactions. The Math PhD student will develop the FEM-methods for the coupling, and the MISU PhD will study the impact of numerical solutions on the model representation of physical processes and will investigate ocean circulation under different configurations. The real-life context is the 79N-Glacier, Greenland, and the project is woven into several international collaborations.

Please find more information under the links below. The closing date is April 23, 2019.

Best regards,

Inga Koszalka & Josefin Ahlkrona
