Boise State University invites applicants for a tenure-track position of ASSISTANT or ASSOCIATE Professor within the Department of Biological Sciences at Boise State University, Boise, Idaho.

We invite applications for a tenure track position in Ecological Genomics, at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. We seek candidates who use functional genomic approaches to identify and analyze genetic pathways that underlie biotic responses to a changing environment and/or biological interactions. The preferred candidate will have strong bioinformatics and computing/programming skills that link genomic, metagenomic, and/or transcriptomic data to phenotypic expression of non-model organisms. Candidates working in animal, plant, or microbiome systems are encouraged to apply.

Successful candidates will develop an externally-funded research program, teach graduate course(s) focused on bioinformatics, and teach courses in our undergraduate curriculum. Candidates will also mentor undergraduate, Master’s and PhD students in research,and play an active role in building a diverse and inclusive environment in our dynamic and growing department, PhD program in Ecology, Evolution and Behavior, and university.

Minimum Qualifications:
●     PhD and postdoctoral or equivalent experience in the field related to the position of interest
●     Scholarly creativity and independence as demonstrated by a strong record of publication and evidence of extramural funding (as described in the research statement and curriculum vitae)
●     Evidence of teaching and/or mentoring and interest in using current pedagogical techniques (as demonstrated in the teaching statement)

Our partners collectively contribute expertise in remote sensing of terrestrial ecosystems, biogeochemistry, ecohydrologic and land-atmosphere modeling, human behavior, paleoecology, fire ecology, agent-based modeling, and land use science.
