What Your Job Will Be Like


We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the team as a Program
Communication Specialist. You will support the communications for the
Director and the Level 2 Managers in Center 6700, Monitoring Systems.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

.         Develop solutions to establish processes and tools to meet center
communication goals, and direct strategic communications for long-term
impact.

.         Establish communication priorities and review with Center Director
and senior leadership.

.         Manage and execute the center's strategic communication plan and
vet with the director and senior leadership


Qualifications We Require


.         Bachelor's  degree in Business, English, Communications,
Journalism , or closely relevant field plus 8 years of relevant experience;
or master's degree in relevant discipline plus four or more years of
relevant experience; or doctorate in relevant discipline; or equivalent
combination of relevant education and experience.

.         Active and ability to maintain a required US DOE L security
clearance.

.          Ability to obtain and maintain a required US DOE Q security
clearance.


Qualifications We Desire


.         Experience working with classified matter.

.         Experience supporting employee events (All Hands, Center Meetings,
etc.)

.         Knowledge of Sandia processes and procedures.

.         Ability to develop and execute program-specific communication
plans.

.         Excellent writing and editing skills.

.         Experience supporting communications at the Center level.

.         Proven track record supporting Director and all levels of
management.

.         Ability to manage multiple requests from a variety of customers.

.         Ability to develop a variety of program specific communication
material including presentations, speeches, articles, and marketing
collateral.

.         Experience working with and advising program management and
leadership to determine specific communications to targeted internal and
external audiences.


Position Information


This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one
year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of
seven years.

Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal
candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions
during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing
availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.

Security Clearance


Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) granted Q-level security
clearance.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug
testing, and a pre-employment background review that includes personal
reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment
and education verifications. Applicants for employment must be able to
obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S.
citizenship.

Applicants offered employment with Sandia are subject to a federal
background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified
information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security
