[ES_JOBS_NET] PhD opportunity in microbial biogeochemical modelling

*PhD Position in Marine Microbial Process Modeling*



The project focuses on the development of gene- and protein-centric
biogeochemical models that integrate observation and experimental (“-omic;
genomic, trancriptomic and proteomic”) data.  The goal is to develop models
that capture microbial processes (such as carbon remineralization) that are
not well represented in traditional Nutrient, Phytoplankton, Zooplankton,
Detritus (NPZD) models.   This is part of a larger project focusing on
understanding microbial community dynamics in the Northwest Atlantic and
the successful applicant will work closely with the microbial ecologists
conducting the field and laboratory components of the project.



This work is funded through the Dalhousie University Ocean Frontier
Institute’s major research projects.  Information on the project can be
