[ES_JOBS_NET] Cluster Hire at Michigan Tech -Interface of Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and Computation

As part of the cluster hire in applied Artificial Intelligence & Advanced
Computation (AI&AC) for engineering, the Department of Geological and
Mining Engineering and Sciences (GMES) encourages individuals who work at
the interface of artificial intelligence, large spatiotemporal data
analysis, or advanced computing with any sub-discipline of geoscience or
geoengineering to apply. We are particularly interested in recruiting
assistant professors who conduct research by integrating multi-scale,
multi-platform, and multi-sensor big datasets to address engineering and
scientific challenges for sustainable development of the Earth system and
its resources. Desired areas of expertise for the position include, but are
not limited to, AI&AC technologies to detect and predict natural hazards,
big data analytics, advanced computational modeling, and emerging digital
technologies applied to geoscience or geoengineering. Applicants for the
position must have an earned PhD degree in geoengineering or geoscience or
closely related disciplines. The successful candidate will be expected to
develop an externally funded research program in their area of interest
while leading collaboration with other faculty, engage in both
undergraduate and graduate teaching and contribute to professional service.
