NCAR has opened a post-doc position focusing on operational ensemble
hydrological forecasting. It is a one-year position in the NCAR Research
Applications Laboratory, located in Boulder, Colorado, with a conditional
extension to two years.

The position includes two main thrusts: 1) development of a
watershed-oriented (HUC-based) configuration of WRF-Hydro (used in the US
National Water Model) for application in long-range (S2S) ensemble
forecasting; and 2) development and implementation of modeling and ensemble
techniques, including NWP downscaling, hydrologic data assimilation and
streamflow post-processing, for use in reservoir inflow forecasting in the
western US.

Applicants should be versed in hydrometeorological modeling and model
applications (especially forecasting), and have programming, analysis, and
UNIX/LINUX skills.

The position will remain open and posted until filled. Questions may be
directed to Andy Wood (andywood /at/ ucar.edu).
