All,

A vacancy announcement was just posted for a Research Hydrologist at the Southwest Watershed Research Center in Tucson and will remain open until June 1. We are hoping the GS12 scientist will grow into a leader that can address western water issues. The description of duties includes:

The incumbent will conduct research including designing and supervising field experiments to understand climate and management impacts on vegetation, quantifying the impact of the resulting vegetation communities on water-mediated physical, chemical and biological processes, integrating results across Walnut Gulch Experimental Watershed (WGEW) and other Western U.S. research sites in the Long Term Agro-ecosystem Research (LTAR) network (as well as, possibly, other research networks like Long Term Ecological Research (LTER), National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON), Ameriflux, and Forest Service watersheds), and incorporating the results into tools to adapt to a changing climate.
