The Cooperative Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Studies (CIMAS) at the University of Miami (UM), Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science (RSMAS) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate to participate in a modeling project to evaluate the stock-recruitment relationship and other recruitment dynamics to improve stock assessments and management of bluefin tuna stocks worldwide. This project will involve conducting stock assessments for multiple bluefin tuna stocks to evaluate the stock-recruitment relationship and other aspects of recruitment dynamics.

Requirements:
* Must have a Ph.D. in Fisheries, population dynamics, or a related field with the equivalent of Master's level training in mathematics.
* Experience with stock assessment models, simulation modelling and applying advanced mathematical techniques to problems in population dynamics is desired.
* Strong computer skills, the ability to work with large amounts of data, and familiarity with statistical catch at age models (such as Stock Synthesis or Multifan-CL) are also preferred.
* This position will be located either at the Sustainable Fisheries Division at the Southeast Fisheries Science Center or the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science.

Start date is negotiable and the position is currently funded for one year with the possibility of continued funding.
