Dear all,

The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) is currently accepting
applications for a fall internship in our Geoscience Policy program. The
internship is based in Alexandria, VA (just across the river from DC), runs
for 14 weeks, and comes with a fixed stipend of $5500. The stipend is
provided through a generous grant from the American Association of
Petroleum Geologists Foundation (AAPGF). You must be a U.S. citizen and
enrolled in, or have recently completed, a geoscience or geo-related
bachelor's or master's degree program to apply. Geoscience students with an
interest in energy and natural resource issues are particularly encouraged
to apply. *The application deadline is April 15th*.

The Geoscience Policy program represents the geoscience community in
Washington DC, and actively works with Congress and federal agencies to
foster sound public policy in areas that affect geoscientists, including
water, energy, and mineral resources; geologic hazards; environmental
protection; and federal funding for geoscience research and education. AGI
seeks outstanding geoscience or geo-related students (undergraduate or
master's) and recent graduates with a strong interest in federal science
policy. Interns will attend hearings, briefings, and some meetings, and
will hone their writing and web publishing skills while gaining first-hand
understanding of the legislative process and executive branch agencies.

Please contact us at govt at americangeosciences.org if you have any
questions, and feel free to distribute this information and the attached
flyer.

Thanks,
Ben Mandler
