Job Summary:
Conduct research projects on geological features on Mars, Europa, Pluto, the Moon, and Mercury. Oversee the mapping and measurement of features in GIS software, conducting literature surveys, analyzing data, making plots. Other tasks may include writing project results in manuscript form for submission to a peer reviewed journal, writing future proposals, and presenting results at a professional conference.
Education/Experience:
Requires a B.A. or B.S. degree in Geology or GIS (Geographic Information Systems) ; must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Must have programming skills; experience in Python is preferred. Experience with the ArcGIS software is required. A background in working with planetary datasets and the statistical program R is preferred.
Special Considerations:
Work assignment is in Boulder, Colorado. This is a 1 year limited term assignment.
