Assistant or Associate Professor of Geography/Geosciences
Position Description

The Department of Geography and Geosciences at the University of Louisville invites candidates to apply for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position to begin August 1, 2018, pending funding.

We seek candidates with expertise and research interests in the area of medical and/or health geography. The ideal candidate will demonstrate potential for conducting research grounded in both theory and application using quantitative and/or qualitative methods, and have experience working as part of interdisciplinary teams. The applicant will support the department's graduate program and be encouraged to seek out broader initiatives across University programs including public health, medicine and sustainability. While a dynamic research agenda will be expected, supported by commitment to collaborate and receive external funding support, the candidate must also demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level, including development of GIS-related courses.

The successful applicant will join a vibrant research community with department specialties in environmental analysis, geospatial technologies, urban analysis and human and cultural dynamics. A Ph.D. in geography or related discipline is required at time of appointment.
