Hello,

Could you please post the below announcement about open positions at
Ben-Gurion University in Israel.

Thanks a lot,

ilya

Description:

The Gelfand lab at the Jacob Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research of
the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev is recruiting MS and PhD students
to study nitrogen cycle in soils and ecosystems.Specifically, we are
studying:           a) biotic and abiotic factors that regulate soil
emissions of gaseous forms of N (nitrous and nitric oxides) and
ecosystemal N cycle as a whole; and b) agricultural sustainability.

Currently, we are looking for students who are interested in research
within two general topics:

a) Soil trace gases emissions and processes that controls magnitude and
temporal variability of soil trace gases emission; and b) Interactions
between soil N cycle, trace gases emissions, and plant functioning.
Interested students will develop independent projects including
laboratory, greenhouse, and field experiments within research theme of
the lab.

Qualifications:

1.Readiness to work in field, greenhouse, and laboratory.

2.Motivation to study new concepts and techniques.

3.Knowledge and degree in geology, chemistry, soil sciences, ecology,
environmental sciences, or microbiology.

Interested applicants should contact Dr. Ilya Gelfand at _igelfand at
