*Full-time Senior Research Staff Assistant in Organic Geochemistry*
We are seeking a full-time Senior Research Staff Assistant to join the
Organic Geochemistry research group at the Lamont-Doherty Earth
Observatory.  The Senior Research Staff Assistant will oversee day-to-day
operation of the organic geochemistry laboratory. They will operate and
conduct maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory
equipment/instrumentation including an Accelerated Solvent Extractor, gas
chromatographs, and other lab equipment and facilities. The person hired
into this important role will also conduct sample analyses for lab users’
research projects, including method development, sample management,
chemical analysis and data reporting.


College diploma in Geology or Chemistry or a closely related discipline and
some lab experience is desired.  Prior experience with organic chemistry
methods and instruments is a plus but on-the-job training will be
provided.  We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about climate
change research, detail-oriented and neat to a fault, and gives 110% to
