Position Information


The University of Maryland Eastern Shore invites resumes for a twelve month, full-time, grant-funded position. The position is subject to availability of funds.

Responsibilities


Coordinate or assist with coordinating leveraged programs of the LMRCSC including the geoscience outreach and summer bridge programs such as Summer Geoscience Bridge Program, Research Experience for Undergraduates in Marine and Estuarine Science, and the UMES component of the Woods Hole Partnership Education Program (PEP); assist with recruitment of students for the LMRCSC and CREST-CISCEP; update the Geoscience Program website and application forms; order supplies and equipment for the CREST-CISCEP; and accompany Interns on field trips. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications


BS/BA or MA/MS in Science (Marine/Environmental Sciences, Biology, Agricultural Science, Environmental/Civil Engineering, etc.) or a related field.. Excellent communications skills to include written communication skills required. Must be organized and detail oriented with a strong customer service focus. Must have strong interpersonal skills. Strong familiarity with GIS, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Acrobat Pro. Must have experience with database management (E.G. MS Access).

Preferred Qualifications


Experience coordinating student programs, developing/updating websites, and recruiting students. Experience with academic and/or marine /environmental science programs strongly preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities


Must be skilled in database management and/development (e.g. MS Access). Must have a strong familiarity with GIS, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Acrobat Pro. Excellent communication skills to include written skills as well as interpersonal skills. Must be organized and detail oriented with a strong customer service focus.
