Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to inform you that within the framework of the “Make our Planet Great Again” call launched by Campus France, a new PhD opportunity is available in IMT –Lille Douai, France. The objective of the PhD is to investigate the degradation of green leaf volatiles (GLVs) from the main oxidants of the atmosphere using atmospheric simulation chambers. GLVs are volatile organic compounds that are universally released when plants suffer tissue damage or undergo drought stress. Due to the anticipated climate change their concentrations are expected to increase dramatically in the near future, and thus their impact to the air quality.
For further information about the PhD topic and information about how to apply please advise the corresponding link (https://doctorat.campusfrance.org/CF201812440). Foreign students that have not lived more than 90 days in France the past 2 years are eligible to apply. We encourage MSc student with an experience in atmospheric science and physical chemistry to apply. Students will have the opportunity to work in an international environment, using the very recently developed THALAMOS (THermAL regulated AtMOSpheric) simulation chamber, a unique tools in national level designed to simulate lower/upper tropospheric temperature conditions.

Deadline for application is April the 22nd.

Sincerely

Manolis Romanias
