The Environmental Studies Department at McDaniel College invites applicants
for a full-time, tenure-track position beginning August 2018 at the rank of
Assistant Professor.

We seek an individual with interdisciplinary teaching and research interests
in environmental studies and a strong commitment to undergraduate education.
A Ph.D. and previous teaching experience is preferred. Teaching load is 6
courses a year, which includes introductory courses in Sustainability and/or
Environmental Problem Solving, intermediate and upper-level courses in the
candidate's area of expertise, and possible general education courses in
environmental studies. Candidates should be broadly trained in environmental
studies. Preferred areas of expertise include agroecology, agronomy,
sustainable food systems, food security, or food policy. This position is
designed to expand our program in the area of sustainable agriculture.
McDaniel College owns a 54-acre off-campus property that includes fields,
forests, ponds, and a creek. This position will help to expand the
development of this site and establish student-centered agricultural
activities. Experience with community gardening, student farming, or similar
agricultural initiatives is highly desired.

Position responsibilities include:

.         Teach and advise undergraduate students

.         Conduct and publish peer-reviewed research

.         Provide service to the College and relevant external
constituencies
