CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION

​The School of Earth & Environmental Sciences (SEES) at Queens College, City University of New York (CUNY) is accepting applications for a tenure-track Environmental Geochemist at the Assistant Professor level (full time, 9-mos. appointment). We encourage applications from geochemists whose research is focused in atmospheric, marine or terrestrial systems or on fluxes among them and/or work on environmental problems relevant to public health from environmental pollutants or the management of environmental impacts resulting from anthropogenic activities including climate change or activities in the energy sector.  Duties of the position include teaching courses in environmental science and geoscience at the undergraduate, Masters and PhD levels, and courses in her or his area of expertise; establishing an active, externally-funded research program; participation in the development of the Geology and Environmental Science programs at Queens College at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and at the CUNY Graduate Center’s doctoral programs; and contributions of professional service.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

​PhD degree is required with a specialization in environmental geochemistry.
Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated the ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels, publish their research in high-impact journals, externally fund their research, have involved undergraduate and graduate students in their research, and will complement our current SEES and CUNY faculty in teaching and research.
